Morning Motivator – Keep Organized, Keep Ahead

"Don't agonize. Organize."
- Florynce Kennedy

If you were going in to have a major heart surgery, would you like to know your cardiologist had a CHECKLIST of what needs to be done?  Wouldn't a CHECKLIST be a pretty good idea for ATTORNEY as well going into a contract negotiation?  It seems that even a good husband can BENEFIT from the organization of a "honey-do" list from his loving wife…

Excellent ORGANIZATION allows you to eliminate "surprises" as you execute your tasks or duties.  By having a "control sheet" denoting all the critical key elements required to validate the completion of a task, you hedge some of the risk associated with the failure of the human brain.

Sure, we are all pretty darn smart… but how many times have you gone to the store for bread and purchased everything but??  It is not our fault that the human BRAIN, God's most powerful super computer, has simple faults like confusion, trouble with prioritization and distraction.

Remember that your brain doesn't separate VALUE of a task.  It simply processes the information, just as a computer would.

2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
Organization is not necessarily about a spotless desk or a file for every piece of paper you have ever seen in your life.

Organization is about CONTROL over the critical elements that are required to be completed in order to achieve your goals.

An excellent technique, as mentioned above, is CHECK LISTING.  By taking the time, once, to create a master checklist for the tasks you complete again and again, you can EXPEDITE future tasks and eliminate "do-over's."

Continually examine your checklist as you complete a project and seek to ELIMINATE steps, if viable, as well as add any CRITICAL ones should they be necessary.

Once you have CONTROL over the elements of a task or project that you know need to be done, you will find that your CREATIVITY and INGENUITY will kick in – allowing you to be better, faster and stronger in your execution.
