Morning Motivator – Treat It Like You Own It

"He's a serial entrepreneur. Somebody stop him before he makes a killing again."
- Carl Zetie

What is an entrepreneur (and can you spell it right the first time)? An Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, esp. a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. Are you an entrepreneur?

Many people that work from someone else would say NO. Why? Are you not the person that ORGANIZES and MANAGES the business? Are you not managing SIGNIFICANT risk for your colleagues, clients and company? Just because you don't sign your OWN check, doesn't mean you aren't the SINGLE person in charge of YOUR business.

Business owners UNDERSTAND that they are not qualified nor have the time capability to execute all the activities REQUIRED to meet the needs of their clients. Hence, they hire staff. The staff SERVES as an extension of the owner in the ways in which they meet the needs of the clients. This means that the owner RELINQUISHES their organization and management to YOU… with great RISK to their success. Now, I ask you again, are you an entrepreneur?

2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
Since you are the one carrying the RISK – the risk of keeping the clients and keeping your income – why not treat it like you OWN it? Imagine how much more you could do and how much more likely you are to get a RAISE, a PROMOTION or become a PARTNER if you treat it like you own it now!

When you are INVESTED in a project (business or personal) such that others know you are the SOLE proprietor of your area, thus you are the "end all, tell all"… they are more willing to INVEST with you. The challenge most people have is that you have far LESS to lose than them, when you are only INVESTED at the lowest level.

Make the effort, build your business and treat it like you own it… you never know… one day you might!

Cheers,
Zach
