Morning Motivator -
- Darrell Brown, Nashville Songwriter
Do you have something you BELIEVE in so deeply that you would do it for free? Would you do it WITHOUT the support of others? What if you were RIDICULED because of it??
I have a BELIEF... I believe that EVERY person CAN be successful through focused learning! I am so deeply INVESTED in this idea that I am planning a "Success Steps" Business EDUCATION series for interested people to join - with no fee from me. Sounds SILLY? Maybe.
You may ask... Why give away your TIME and EXPERTISE? Why throw away REVENUE that could be used to better your lifestyle?
My response: This IDEA deserves an OPPORTUNITY to live.
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
For me, seeing others ACHIEVE is an internal gratification. I know in my HEART that I am a teacher and a LEADER for others. I FEEL it is my DUTY to develop my people so they can better the world for our children.
Don't get me wrong. I am not a SAINT and I am not PROVIDING charity... You WILL do the work! You WILL be expected to follow through on certain commitments. You WILL earn your success...
And since its my DUTY to see this idea nurtured... I WILL be a part of that SUCCESS!
Are you WILLING to nurture your ideas to see they have a life too?
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator - Be the Go-To Guy (or Gal)
- unknown
I met a gentleman Wednesday that said something very INTERESTING about his "business philosophy."
In our chat, he mentioned he LIKED the fact I seemed to be a RESOURCE as opposed to a sales person. I like the TERM and so I asked him what he meant by it.
He noted that in his view, a resource, is the person that others call when they need ANYTHING - a referral, a car, advice, etc. It is the person that others RECCOMEND you should know, just because they help get things done.
I was very HUMBLED.
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
Here is how I see this...
We should all want to be the GO-TO person others want to know. When you know enough of the RIGHT people, in the RIGHT ways - you will find that those people become a KEY PIECE of your success team.
When you begin to help OTHERS solve their challenges, inherently, they will FOCUS on helping you solve yours.
Be a SOLUTION provider to others... And the will become the SOLUTION to your achievement!
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator - The BEST Place to Get an Education
- unknown
Everyday is a LEARNING process if you are wise to the opportunities around you. Outside of the usual "learn through experience" jargon - where is the best place to get an EDUCATION?
Many will suggest going to college. I will reserve my thoughts on the TRUE applicable value of undergraduate studies. Others will suggest SELF education through reading. I am a BIG fan of this. Yet, there is something even BETTER...
Why not LEVERAGE experience and education... In a Cliff Notes version?
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
Right NOW, there is someone you know that has been through schooling and experiences everything you could desire. An INDIVIDUAL that is such a wealth of knowledge that they could show you the path in less than 20 minutes.
Commonly, this type of person, is also very WILLING to share their expertise to aid in your SUCCESS! Simply put - Find someone that has ACCOMPLISHED what you want and ask them to MENTOR you.
Don't be AFRAID to ask someone to guide and share in your success. More often than not, they are HONORED to help! (And its a much better way to learn than anything else - support system included).
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator - My Best Advice to Myself
- common phrase
I had a very INTERSTING discussion last week with my friend, Ashley Skinner of Imagination Specialties in Nashville.
She POSED a question to me that I hadn't spent much time thinking of prior. She asked, "if you could go back and give yourself advice, what would it be?" Very good question...
Now, I am not one to do much looking back. The question was FAIR so I answered as best I could by saying, "if I could go back to give myself any advice, I would go to my freshman year of college. I would tell myself to pursue MY dreams and not try to appease others desire for my 'success.'"
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
I have alluded in past Morning Motivators about the idea of "Empty Success." The idea that you ACHIEVE success as deemed by others - great income, nice house, cool car, wife, kids, blah blah blah...
My answer to Ashley was to tell myself to OVERCOME empty success by pursuing my passions, strengths and interests.
When you are FOCUSED on the tasks that make you smile and enrich your soul - your REAL SUCCESS is found easily in time.
Stay TRUE to your heart and follow your PASSIONS... Your "SUCCESS" will follow you.
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator - The Better Way to Do Business
-John Updike
Have you noticed a TREND in business? The leaders are commonly the people that were most SUCCESSFUL in their PRIOR role. Key word: PRIOR!
Often, it is a manager or supervisor that will tell you the BEST way to execute your role. This is a recycled version of the way THEY did it and found success. You will hear the same old theories, a trite suggestions, and UNIMAGINATIVE methodologies for success. Such garbage as "show up early and stay late", "it's a numbers game...make more calls" or "you have push your clients to make a decision."
Is there a BETTER way? What IS the better way to do business? I would contend that the BETTER way is YOUR way. If you THRIVE through educating clients - then conduct seminars. Should PROCESS management be your strong suit - helps craft programs for your clients to do more, in a better way. If you are a NETWORKING master - then build that database and leverage your relationships. Regardless, the PAST success of your "supervisor" is NOT always the best way for you to find the same achievement. Utilize your CREATIVITY and STRENGTHS.
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
When you consider what YOUR best way of achieving your goals may be, REVISIT the comments you make to yourself consistently. There is a strong likelihood that you are consistently making comments about how you "WISH things were."
Why not TRY it once? If its marginally successful - do it again. If it fails miserably, then at least you are AWARE that your idea may not be the best... however, I assure you that if you do try YOUR WAY and find that it is NOT successful, you will simply tap into a deeper CREATIVITY and come up with a better idea of how you can get things done... your way!
Do not be AFRAID to be CREATIVE. Do not be afraid to FAIL. Failure is nothing more than the SHORTEST path to success... and CREATIVITY is the shortcuts through that maze.
Cheers,
Zach
