"When you say 'I do' that's a commitment you can't take back."
- Unknown
I overhead someone say this last night in regard to my upcoming nuptials. I thought it was a very APPROPRIATE comment.
Commitment, whether marriage or work, is about DEDICATION and PERSEVERANCE. To achieve SUCCESS from our Commitments, we must understand that every day requires BEST EFFORTS!
The typical sales person QUITS calling a client after 3 attempts! A sales PROFESSIONAL knows it takes 5 to 7 attempts before most new clients take action.
The professional UNDERSTANDS their commitment and STAYS with it!
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
I chose this Morning Motivator as I thought it was appropriately timed with my WEDDING tomorrow.
Understanding what COMMITTMENT means in terms of effort, sacrifice, disappointments and joy, provides PERSPECITVE for us all as we take on LASTING relationships.
Whether your spouse, family or clients, STAY COMMITTED to their success! Help others find HAPPINESS and your success will be found along side theirs...
As a note, the Morning Motivator will be taking a break to HONEYMOON next week and will pick back up July 6th. Thank you for your continued COMMITTMENT to growth, learning and leadership!
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator - Reward Great Work!
"Is it better to be feared or loved?"
- Unknown
Management styles VARY from person to person, job to job. Although the details may be different, the basics are ALWAYS the same - reinforce behavior with REWARDS or PUNISHMENT.
Which would you say works BEST?
My THEORY is rewards outweigh punishment. Some business leaders will say that your SALARY is your reward for working (which I agree) and that nothing else should be needed (of which I disagree). The salary is the MINIMUM given offer from the owner, which gets you the same in effort.
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
If you want MORE, give more!
Sure, you can THREATEN firing someone. You can cut their COMPENSATION. That FEAR will drive them to do "just enough" NOT to get fired, or in trouble.
Try providing an INCENTIVE to go above and beyond. Ask for a FASTER delivery - offer a bonus! Ask a manager to come in UNDER budget and COMPENSATE with a percentage of savings!
Now those ideas sounds much better than PRESSURING someone with negativity!
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator - Dreams are Fleeting...
"I had the best dream last night, but can only remember parts of it..."
- Unknown
When I woke up, I had an AWESOME Morning Motivator idea... Then I hit the snooze bar. What happened next was very thought PROVOKING.
The IDEA was amazing... poignant... challenging... And more! It was so AMAZING - I forgot it!!
Like many of my OTHER great ideas and BRILLIANT business solutions - they went to WASTE - lost by a LACK of action.
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
The LESSON of this is TAKE ACTION!!
All the best ideas are a WASTE without action. They are FANTASIES of what "could be."
Your best ideas ARE exceptional!! Take action and SHARE them with the world... You WILL be rewarded for doing so!
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator – Try Your Luck…
"I will prepare and someday my chance will come."
- Abraham Lincoln
I have to BRAG about a very good friend of mine, Mr. Joseph Levy. On July 2nd, Joe will be leaving for Las Vegas, Nevada to participate (and hopefully dominate) the World Series of Poker. Most interestingly, he is not a PROFESSIONAL poker player, rather a very sharp business consultant.
I am CONFIDENT that he is a skilled amateur, yet the WSOP is a BIG TIME tournament. Why even get in the ring with the superstars??
Because EVERYONE can win!! But only if you TRY YOUR LUCK and play…
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
Joe is a great INSPIRATION for me. When you think about what he is doing and that he won an entry via an online tournament, you REALIZE that only the BOLD are rewarded with opportunity!!
I EXPECT his opportunity will be excellent and the learning experience will be OUTSTANDING!
The question I know ask myself (and you should be asking as well), is: "am I TRYING MY LUCK often enough? And can I attain my DREAMS being as BOLD as I am today?"
Good luck JLevy! The world will be watching, cheering… and when you get to the final days, I will be there!!
Cheers,
Zach

Morning Motivator - How a Mid-life Crisis is Built
"People who don't care, selling products to people who care less."
- Seth Godin
It is said that INSANITY is defined by repeating the same process, expecting varied results. It is no WONDER that some people are on the super highway to BURNOUT and a MIDLIFE MELTDOWN.
Plenty of people work in jobs they could care LESS about. The do just ENOUGH not to get fired. They work without any PASSION for their job and WONDER why they are so miserable...
Dumbfounding, isn't it!?
2 DEGREE SUCCESS STEP:
We may not be in the "place" we EXPECTED (yet), however, if you are working with PURPOSE and PASSION - you are on your way!!
ALLOW yourself to daydream about the ideal job! Look at your current role and the missing pieces to get you to where you want to be!
Maybe you need to start your own business, talk with a mentor, seek education, or more. Regardless, STAYING "safe" where you are will NEVER yield the joy you are seeking.
Take small steps. Test the waters. Then DIVE in!! You can put yourself on the RIGHT PATH today...
Cheers,
Zach
